Jeffory Asselin’s
first commissioned Screenwest short film 'Little Man' 2003, which he produced for Cannes award winning director, Julius Avery, received four nominations in the 18th West Australian Screen Awards and won Best Actor. It also won the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) Gold Award in Western Australia and the ACS National Distinction Award. In 2005 Jeff was selected for the producer's SHOWTIME Talent Assist Scheme at the Screen Producers of Australia (SPAA) conference on the Gold Coast.

Jeff’s second commissioned Screenwest film ‘My Shout’, (2005) which he produced, went on to win the Best Drama Production and Best Production Design at the 20th West Australian Screen Awards. It also went on to win Best Production Design at 2007 Bondi Short Film Festival, Distinction at Adelaide Shorts, and Silver at the 2007 ACS Awards.

In 2005 Jeff was also comissioned by the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts to direct 'Three to One’. The film scored a best Actor nomination at the 18th West Australian Screen Awards for Lachlan Chapman. Lead actor, Khan Chittenden, has gone on to feature in many feature films including West, Clubland, Endless Bummer and In Her Skin and Needle.

Jeffs
most recent commissioned film ‘The Billabong’, which he produced, wrote and directed was released in June 2010.

Jeff''s films have screened in many national and international film festivals including Revelation Perth International Film Festival, Shorts Film Festival Adelaide, St Kilda Film Festival, Snowyfest International Film Festival, Home Brewed International Film Festival, Canberra Short Film Festival, The Human Rights Arts & Film Festival, New York Independent Film and Video Festival, LA Shorts Fest, Jackson Hole Film Festival, International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao, Short Cuts Cologne, and London's Soho Shorts Festival.
